What Is Passive Income Online About ?

Earning passive income online is what most entrepreneurs strive to achieve. Really successful entrepreneurs do it very well.
A Passive Income is one that you don’t really have to do anything for, once you have put in the initial work. Do not be fooled though, to create massive passive income will take a huge amount of work and energy in the initial stages. That is not to say you cannot make a reasonable amount of passive income with some effort in the early stages.

Examples Of Passive Income

1. A simple one would be adding an affiliate link to one of your blog posts.

So for this you need to join the affiliate program, write the blog post and promote the blog post. There are some affiliate programs that are happy to let you promote without a blog or website. All you need to do is promote the affiliate link on social media. If anyone clicks on your link and makes a purchase, then you will earn a commission.
The same link can be clicked many times and so this becomes your passive income. However, we all know that you will have to do a lot of promotion to get lots of clicks and it is wise to continue to promote that link.
2. Become an Affiliate for a fee paying service.

Promote online services

Lots of the tools we use as bloggers have an affiliate program. These are services that website owners and bloggers need to run their sites efficiently. These generally have a monthly or a yearly fee. They generally charge monthly but if you upgrade to yearly it becomes cheaper per month. To promote services like these, creates a real passive income for you. If someone purchases through your link and continues to use and pay for the service you will get paid a commission every month. It is definitely worth putting in the work to promote these.
You may be using them yourself so writing a review should be easy. Note however that you don’t always have to be using the service to promote it. I know lots of bloggers who have promoted the product to earn the money to afford the service for themselves.
3. Creating your own online course.
Many bloggers create their own online courses. Some are simple and some are complex. The price point will depend on the amount of modules in the course and to some extent your authority in the field. Once you have created the course you will need to promote and sell it. If you promote it properly and use Pinterest as a huge part of your marketing campaign you can continue to earn off of it forever. You could also create a killer Facebook ad if you have a marketing budget. This Facebook Ad can be used to promote the course again and again. No more real work or time required.
Please note that Courses that include coaching calls or Live Q&As; cannot really be classed as passive income as it will still need your physical input. Courses that have pre made videos however will be passive income as you only need to do it once.
4. Promote Other Peoples Courses

Creating passive income

Many people who create Online courses see the value in having affiliates to promote their course for them. They know, there is only so much promotion they can do but by offering an affiliate program they can have other people doing their promotion for them. This is a great way of leveraging their time and creating passive income.
If you have your own course or are developing one then this might be something you would like to think about. I promote several courses created by others and they use SendOwl to handle their logistics. Obviously there are other online options for handling the affiliate process but this seems to be the one used by those testing the waters in creating an affiliate network for their products.
5. Sell Your Photographs
There is a huge demand for photographs online. Whilst there are a lot of free ones, bloggers, website owners and course creators are always looking for something that makes them stand out from the crowd. Once you have taken your photograph you can sell it again and again. Not everyone has the photographers eye. I certainly don’t and I don’t think even if I did take a course, I would ever be able to take a great photograph. If you think you have an eye and want to learn how to create photographs for your own blog or website or even to make a passive income from them, then you might want to look at a course that launched just yesterday. It is called the Ultimate Photography bundle and you can read all about it, by clicking here.
6. Write a book or maybe a song!
This is a bit of a tongue in cheek option but people have made serious passive income by writing a best selling book and definitely from writing a hit song. Having worked in the music Industry in my past, I have come across many an artist who have worked their butt off only to have the majority of the money go to the songwriter (This is rarely the performer although there are exceptions) I know one individual who shall remain nameless who had a huge hit in the 90s in the U.K. The song has become iconic and as he wrote it, he lives off that one song very, very, nicely thank you.
I only include this last one as a way of cementing in your mind, what passive income is really about. Putting in the hard work and earning from it, with very little extra effort once it is done.

In Conclusion And Final Advice

Earning a Passive income

To earn true passive income it would wise not to stick to one income stream. True entrepreneurs will have a portfolio of products and services that they market. Putting all of your eggs in one basket has never been a great idea.
Even if you are just starting out it would be an intelligent decision to become an affiliate for several complimentary products that are relative to your niche and readers.
Creating a true passive income is easily done if you are willing to put the effort in, at the beginning. Using great promotional tools to schedule your marketing is also a good idea. You should create several ads, pins, Instagram and twitter posts with the same link to your post that contains your affiliate link or just the affiliate link itself. If you have your own course the same rules apply. Schedule them all in and forget about them until next month. Your posts will be read, your links clicked and you will be earning passive income.
It would be remiss of me not to put in an affiliate link or two in this post so the scheduling tools I use are Tailwind and Boardbooster. Both have affiliate programs which help pay for your service with Boardbooster, which is cheap anyway. If you sign up with my link for Tailwind you get 100 Free Pins so you can get to see if you like it and you get a$15 voucher which will pay for your first month. Win, Win all round.
If your promo tools work, just rinse and repeat next month and create your own passive income.
I hope you have found this useful and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Hey Karen,

It’s an awesome article with real examples of earning passive income online and marketing strategies.

I have not tried any of the scheduling tools that why I get less traffic from social media in which I do it manually. It’s a tedious work and consumes a lot of time.

Thanks for sharing the tools, I will give them a tryout.

      Thanks for stopping by Shuiheyen,

Sometimes it takes an awful lot of time to do all of the tasks required to create a successful website or blog. Schedulers are my godsend and am always open to more things to allow the income to become more passive.

Let me know how you get on with them and if you need any help, just ask.

      With Grace and Gratitude
